Los nominados de este año fueron anunciados hoy, 8 de julio, a través de una transmisión en vivo de la Television Academy, presentado por Liza Colón-Zayas de The Bear y Jeff Hiller de Somebody Somewhere. Entre los favoritos se encuentra The Pitt con 25 nominaciones y piezas publicadas por HBO Max, Apple TV y Netflix, nuevamente dominan los premios.
La notable ausencia del drama bisexual, Heated Rivalry, se debe a las reglas de participación de los Emmys que estipulan que producciones de otros países no pueden competir “a menos que sea el resultado de una coproducción (tanto financiera como creativa) entre socios estadounidenses y extranjeros.”. La serie fue producida en Canadá para el servicio de streaming Crave, autores de otros shows como Canada’s Drag Race y The Amazing Race Canada.
